The short version

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from a third party unless you ask it to.

If you never submit the offer form and never open the chat, the only personal data that exists is the entry your request leaves in a web server log. If you do submit an offer, we store what you wrote so that we can answer it, and we delete it after twelve months at the latest. That is the whole of it. The sections below say the same thing in the detail the law asks for.

Hosting and server log files

This site is delivered via Cloudflare Pages. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, represented for users in the European Economic Area by Cloudflare Germany GmbH, Rosental 7, 80331 Munich, Germany.

When you access the site, server log files automatically record information transmitted by your browser: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, hostname of the accessing computer, time of the request and IP address. This data is not merged with other sources.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in delivering the site reliably, securely and quickly. Where Cloudflare processes data outside the EU, those transfers rest on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. More information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own, of any kind, including technically necessary ones.

There is no analytics, no audience measurement, no tracking pixel and no advertising network. Nothing is stored in your browser at all.

The offer form

If you submit an offer, we process what you entered: the amount and currency, your name, organisation and role, your email address, and your message. Alongside it we store the time of submission, the IP address the request came from and the user agent string your browser sent. The last two are stored to recognise and limit automated abuse of the form, which is a legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

The purpose of processing the rest is to answer you and, if it goes that far, to negotiate and perform a sale. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

Where it is stored. In Cloudflare Workers KV, on Cloudflare infrastructure. Cloudflare acts as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR.

How long. Each submission carries a technical expiry of twelve months and is removed automatically when it elapses. Where a submission leads to a contract, the commercial and tax retention periods apply instead, as a rule ten years under § 147 of the German Fiscal Code.

How it reaches us. The content of your submission is sent to us by email through Cloudflare Email Routing, again on Cloudflare infrastructure. It is not passed to any other recipient.

Please do not send personal data about third parties through this form, and do not send confidential documents. If you need a protected channel, say so and we will agree one.

The chat

No chat is active on this site at present. If one is added later, it will load only when you click to open it, and this policy will describe it before that happens.

Contact by email

When you write to us directly, we store what you send in order to deal with your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where it concerns initiating or performing a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete this data once keeping it is no longer necessary, or restrict processing where a statutory retention obligation applies.

Unencrypted email is not a secure channel. That matters more than usual here, because the fact that you are interested in acquiring a category name is itself commercially sensitive.

Your rights

You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of processing (Art. 15 GDPR), and the right to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).

Where we rely on a legitimate interest, you may object under Art. 21 GDPR. Any consent you have given may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. Write to [email protected].

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority under Art. 77 GDPR. The authority responsible for us is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, datenschutz-hamburg.de.
